This collection of historical sketches was researched and  
written from congregational historical archives. I 
originally compiled these as "vignettes" to be read at the 
1997 Ohio District Convention in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 
celebration of the 150th anniversary of our Synod.

The facts were gathered from church bulletins, 
correspondence, anniversary brochures, handwritten 
documents, newspaper clippings, etc. To the best of my 
knowledge, all of my sources were factual and not under 
copyright. These documents are being placed into Project 
Wittenberg as part of the public domain and may be freely 
copied.
